International Cooperation
Twinning is a program created on the initiative of the European Commission in 1998.
Its main objective is to support public institutions and to contribute to the development of a modern administration in the countries covered by the programs financed by the European Commission, among others, carried out by Cooperation Fund Foundation - PHARE and Transition Facility.
Twinning in the first place is a partnership between public institutions of donor and recipient countries of assistance. This cooperation consists in providing assistance and experience related to the implementation of EU law, and also allows it to establish lasting relationships between partners of cooperation. The twinning projects may attend public administration bodies and entities whose status is known as Mandated Body. Cooperation Fund Foundation has this status.
