The program encompasses a four-year cycle of activities aimed at transferring knowledge, standards, and best practices from EU countries to Eastern Partnership countries in combating organized crime. The project, financed by the European Commission, also aims to strengthen cooperation between EU and Eastern Partnership law enforcement agencies, as well as support cooperation within the Eastern Partnership countries themselves.
On 30 December 2013, the European Commission signed a contract with the Cooperation Fund Foundation, as the consortium leader, for the implementation of the project "Police cooperation with the Eastern Partnership countries".
The consortium includes internal security institutions of Poland, France, Germany, Sweden, Finland and Lithuania .
The project is financed by the European Neighborhood and Partnership Instrument, and its beneficiaries are the Eastern Partnership countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova , and Ukraine. The project's main goal is to increase cooperation in the fight against organized cross-border crime between the police forces of the Eastern Partnership countries and the European Union, as well as cooperation between relevant services within the Eastern Partnership.
