The " Innovations in Local Government " project is a response to the social challenges related to demographic changes in Poland, which have resulted in, among other things, a significant decline in the ability to provide high-quality social services. The project, aimed at local governments, aims to help local governments introduce innovative forms of social service delivery – both technical and organizational solutions with elements of cross-sectoral engagement, with particular emphasis on social economy entities.
The project involves leveraging social micro-innovations developed under the PO WER program with the support of social innovation incubators across Poland. Selected innovations will be scaled in at least 75 local governments using grants worth up to PLN 300,000 . Local governments will also receive consulting and training support to strengthen their capacity to respond to local social needs, implement change, and find new solutions in everyday operations, ultimately leading to the diversification of services provided.
Planned tasks include:
(1) developing a list of innovations selected for scaling,
(2) refining selected innovations so that they are ready for implementation by local government units,
(3) conducting 3 calls for grants for local government units and
(4) providing training and consulting support to local government units related to the introduction of innovative changes.
The project is financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+), European Funds for Social Development 2021-2027 (FERS 2021-2027), Measure 5.1 "Social Innovation".
