On October 22nd, the application deadline for grant applications for the Accessible School project began under the Knowledge Education Development Operational Programme, Priority Axis IV, Social Innovation and Transnational Cooperation, Measure 4.1. Primary school authorities across Poland can apply. Applications will be open until November 2nd of this year. The project operator is the Cooperation Fund Foundation, and the substantive partner is the Institute for Regional Development Foundation. The recruitment process is a two-stage process. The first stage will be for initial applications, and the second for the main applications. A link to the initial grant application is available on the project website, while a link to the main application will be provided later, after the recruitment process and evaluation of the initial grant applications are completed.
The value of the grant funds is PLN 40,500,000.00, which will be distributed to school governing bodies (in two rounds).
The current round of applications envisages the selection of at least 15 governing bodies, with an allocation of PLN 20,250,000.00 earmarked for grants.
As part of the project, each governing body may receive one grant ranging from PLN 500,000.00 to PLN 1,350,000.00 to test the Accessible School Model (ASM) in the primary schools it manages. The project can be implemented in a minimum of one and a maximum of three primary schools.
Estimated dates for accessibility audits: from January 7, 2021, to February 22, 2021. Accessibility audits will be conducted for 130% of schools with the highest ratings in the first stage of recruitment (preliminary application evaluation).
Important: Only one project can be submitted and only with one operator (parallel recruitment of schools for the MDS testing is being conducted by the Rzeszów Regional Development Agency S.A. as part of the “Accessible School – Innovative Solutions in Creating a Friendly Educational Space Taking into Account the Needs of Students and the Environment” project).
