Imagine you’re cold. Very cold, and you don’t have a home to stay warm. You’d like to put on a warm sweater, socks, and shoes. But you don’t have any. You’d like to wrap yourself in a warm blanket or sleeping bag and survive the cold night—but you can’t. There’s only the feeling of cold, discomfort, and danger. Not pleasant, right?
Winter often has tragic consequences for people experiencing homelessness. But we can help them survive it!
That’s why we’re organizing a Christmas Collection of warm items for people suffering from the cold—and we invite our employees, partners, and friends to participate. What will we be collecting?
First of all, SHOES. Men’s and women’s. They can be new or used, but only clean and in good condition. SOCKS – preferably warm, but any kind will do. UNDERWEAR for men and women. Warm SWEATSHIRTS, preferably with a hood. Also, JACKETS, PANTS, HATS, SCARVES, GLOVES. So that someone can feel warm wearing them. And one more suggestion: THERMAL TENTS, which can function as a sleeping bag or blanket, and they cost no more than 15 PLN! For example, this one: https://www.centerdi.pl/product-pol-2520-AG404A-NAMITOT-TERMICZNY-RATUNKOWY-SPIWOR-KOC.html
Remember: functionality and comfort are key here for someone who spends a significant amount of time in the cold. So please don’t bring items you no longer need: long-worn shirts, sequined blouses, scarves, or dresses. Bring what you would give to someone to warm them up.
Our fundraiser runs until the end of the year. Please bring or send your items to the Cooperation Fund Foundation, ul. Górnośląska 4a, 00-444 Warsaw. We will put them to good use and distribute them on your behalf to those experiencing homelessness.
