First jobs within mOWES

Dodano:

In April, representatives of the Mazovian Social Economy Support Center (mOWES), run by the Foundation, signed the first agreement with the beneficiary of the support: the Association for Supporting Senior Activity “AS” from Mława. Thanks to the support, they will be able to create five additional jobs. The “AS” Association is an organization focused on supporting older people, and its main goal is to increase senior activity in their local communities through various forms of activity in the areas of culture, art, tourism, science, prevention, and intergenerational activities.

More about the association here. One of the most interesting activities of the “AS” Association is engaging seniors with sewing skills to make mascots, such as gnomes. Everything the seniors create is put up for sale, and the proceeds go towards activating and supporting older people – www.sklepas.org.

mOWES
The Masovian Center for Social Economy Support consists of three twin projects implemented under the name Incubation and Support of Social Economy in the Ciechanów, Ostrołęka, and Radom subregions.

mOWES’s goal is to create a total of 180 jobs in newly established and existing social enterprises in Masovia. Priority is given to an innovative approach to cross-sectoral partnerships and intensive local animation. The key to success is the involvement of local governments, NGOs, labor market institutions, and local entrepreneurs.

Services supporting the development of the social economy include financial assistance, training, consulting, and expert services, as well as support from local activists for social economic activities and study visits to thriving social enterprises.

The projects are co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund under the Regional Operational Programme for the Mazowieckie Voivodeship for 2014-2020. They will be implemented until 2019.
