Last year, the “Silesian Innovation Space” project, implemented by the Cooperation Fund Foundation in partnership with the CRIS Social Initiatives Center, concluded. This project was a social innovation incubator operating under the custom-made innovation model. What does this actually mean? We began the process by mapping the social needs and challenges of local and regional institutions, NGOs, businesses, and local governments in the Silesian Voivodeship. Next, we searched for an innovator for each need and then designed a service in the spirit of service design. As part of the incubator, we tested 40 micro-innovations, and the top four received additional development support. Learn more!
E-care
This innovation helps organize complementary e-assistance and care services for people with special needs. This additional form of support offers numerous benefits: it reduces travel to and from clients, increases digital accessibility, and allows for service optimization.
The developed e-care model helps introduce, organize, and implement remote assistance services to ensure the comfort and efficiency of staff and clients.
The model consists of:
co-creation workshops
audit
staff training
e-service implementation and monitoring.

Precious Plastic
This innovation allows you to experience the extraordinary face of recycling. “Precious Plastic” is a social recycling workshop based on the global “Precious Plastic” initiative. This project creates a space in urban spaces where the local community, local government, NGOs, and businesses can collaborate. It combines environmental education with a unique form of craftsmanship. Visitors can create their own items and experience the real benefits of recycling.
The innovation consists of both the model and products in the form of educational materials, instructions for running a recycling workshop, and a website.

Help keep your neighbor warm
Energy poverty is a problem that threatens many people. Municipalities lack the appropriate tools to diagnose the scale of the phenomenon and offer assistance. The “Help Warm Your Neighbor” innovation allows them to reach people from at-risk groups who need help. This comprehensive support system provides municipalities with both tools and informational materials. It helps combine the power of neighborly perspectives with the capabilities of institutional staff.

Edumindfulness
Many studies indicate declining psychological well-being among young people. One solution that can alleviate this problem is the practice of mindfulness, which helps them focus on the “here and now.”
Edumindfulness is an innovation that allows for the implementation of mindfulness in every secondary school. It provides materials and tools in the form of online lessons, a publicly available Mindfulness Corner project, and the Mindful Notebook (a tool for self-reflection and progress monitoring). Introducing mindfulness brings many tangible benefits for both students and staff, for example, it supports stress reduction and facilitates communication.
