On October 30, at 6 Parkowa Street in Ostrołęka, the official opening of the Center for the Incubation and Development of Social Economy Entities (PES) took place at the Masovian Social Economy Support Center in the Ostrołęka subregion, run by the Cooperation Fund Foundation since 2012.

The center has been accredited by the Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy, confirming the high quality of its activities. The ceremony was attended by representatives of local government, social welfare and labor market institutions, non-governmental organizations, and social enterprises. The symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed by Maciej Kleczkowski, Vice Mayor of Ostrołęka; Elżbieta Mech, Head of the Masovian Branch of the EU Program Implementation Unit; Mariusz Popielarz, Director of the Masovian Voivodeship Marshal’s Office; and Marian Krupiński, long-time Director of the Ostrołęka Branch of the Voivodeship Labor Office.

During the meeting, participants learned about the offerings of the Masovian Social Economy Support Center, the activities of several social enterprises, and the partnership of the Forum for Social Initiatives. The event was enhanced by a vocal performance by the women of the Rural Women’s Circle in Łęg Przedmiejskie in the Lelis commune.

The Masovian Social Economy Support Center (SSE) provides comprehensive support to existing and emerging social economy entities (SSEs) and individuals interested in developing or establishing them through grants, training, general and specialized business consulting, including support in obtaining repayable instruments, study visits, workshops, micro-grants for local communities for activities supporting the development of the social economy, and grants for development related to starting a business.

The SSE Incubation and Development Center is a place where we support existing and emerging social economy entities, help create new jobs in the region, integrate local communities, and establish partnerships, says Łukasz Wachowski, SSE Facilitator in the Ostrołęka subregion.

The Center’s free services are available to individuals (those who are unemployed, remote from the labor market, interested in establishing a social economy entity, or wanting to start working in a social enterprise), as well as social economy entities and social enterprises, including social cooperatives, labor cooperatives, disabled and blind cooperatives, non-governmental organizations (associations, foundations, sports clubs), rural women’s associations, non-profit companies, Social Integration Centers and Clubs (CIK, KIS), Vocational Activity Centers (ZAZ), Occupational Therapy Workshops (WTZ), local government units, social welfare centers, labor market institutions, and representatives of local businesses from the Ostrołęka subregion (the city of Ostrołęka and the counties of Ostrołęka, Ostrów, Przasnysz, Maków, and Wyszków).

The activities of the Masovian Social Economy Support Center, run by the Cooperation Fund Foundation, are co-financed by the Masovian Voivodeship Government and co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund.
