Opening of the new headquarters of the PES Incubation and Development Center of the Masovian Social Economy Support Center

Dodano:

On September 19th of this year, the official inauguration of the new headquarters of the Center for Incubation and Development of Social Economy Enterprises (PES) took place in Radom at 25 czerwca 45 Street. This is the latest addition to the Mazovian Social Economy Support Centers, following the centers in the Radom, Ciechanów, and Ostrołęka subregions.

The opening was accompanied by a historical setting, reflecting the rich traditions of cooperative development in the Radom subregion. The hosts provided appropriate stage design and special period costumes: elegant ladies in 1920s-style dresses strolled among the stalls and stands set up in front of the entrance to the Center. This gesture was intended to emphasize the fact that Radom was the location of one of the first three cooperatives in Poland, “Oszczędność,” a typical consumer cooperative. The real boom for cooperatives came in the interwar period. During this time, numerous commercial, savings and loan, construction and housing, agricultural, and industrial and commercial cooperatives were established in Radom.

Seven Years of Experience

The Masovian Social Economy Support Center has been run by the Cooperation Fund Foundation since 2012. The high quality of our services is confirmed by accreditation from the Minister of Family, Labor, and Social Policy.

The PES Incubation and Development Center is one of many centers where we support existing and emerging social economy entities, help create new jobs in the region, integrate local communities, and establish partnerships. We offer training, consulting, and grant support, and build collaborative networks. Our services are free and available to both individuals (wishing to establish or begin working in a social economy entity) and legal entities (such as social cooperatives, non-governmental organizations, rural women’s associations, etc.).

Thanks to such initiatives, local communities unite around their own goals and establish collaborations with other centers, sharing experiences. Social Economy is a field that connects local action groups with local government units, labor market institutions, social welfare centers, and other entities that support the development of social economy entities in the region.

The Masovian Social Economy Support Center in the Radom subregion has been run by the Cooperation Fund Foundation since 2012. It has initiated the creation of dozens of social enterprises, and over 200 social economy entities have benefited from various forms of support, resulting in the creation of nearly 100 new jobs in the region.
