Social(i)Makers – summary of activities in 2018

Through activities implemented as part of the Social(i)Makers project in 2018, 5,246 people interested in social innovation were reached. The project’s Polish partners are the Cooperation Fund Foundation and the Regional Social Policy Center in Poznań. Social Innovation Academy

The Social Innovation Academy is an initiative whose primary goal is to develop knowledge about social innovation. It included an online course and on-site training sessions held in seven partner countries – Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and Italy. Both the course and the workshops consisted of seven modules guiding participants through the process of implementing social innovations – from ideation, through implementation, to impact assessment.

The online course attracted 2,700 participants (including 350 from Poland), while the on-site workshops attracted 1,652 participants (including 435 from Poland).

Social(i)Makers Festivals
Social(i)Makers Festivals are one-day events held in each partner country. Their goal was to promote topics related to social innovation. Event organizers provided participants with a variety of engaging activities, including: Discussions, lectures, and film screenings. A total of 740 people attended the festivals held in Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Poland, Slovenia, Hungary, and Italy.

Webinars
Social(i)Makers webinars complemented the Academy and the festivals. In 2018, two webinars were held – one on financing social innovation and the other on the use of blockchain technology in social innovation. A total of 121 participants participated.

Social(i)Makers is an international project whose main goal is to develop, promote, and educate on the broad topic of social innovation and to support the development of social innovator communities in Central Europe – financiers, entrepreneurs, decision-makers, and citizens.
