The final of the 3rd edition of the Highest Quality Vocational School competition

On June 8, 2018, the 3rd Final Gala of the Top Quality Vocational School competition (najlepszazawodowa.pl) took place in Warsaw.

Representatives of dozens of vocational schools from across Poland attended the Gala, as well as representatives of the competition organizers – the Cooperation Fund Foundation, the Education Board in Warsaw, the Masovian Local Government Teacher Training Center, and the Education Development Center. From the 132 submitted examples of practice, the Competition Jury selected 12 finalists, who received statuettes and the title of “Top Quality Vocational School” and awarded 74 certificates of good practice.

Equal main prizes were awarded to:

· School Complex No. 2 named after Stanisław Konarski Secondary School in Wronki for the internship “WRONEX Simulation Company,”

· Janusz Korczak Special School Complex in Gliwice for the internship “(Dis)abled – Able-bodied in Employment,”

· Yuri Gagarin Construction School Complex in Bydgoszcz for the internship “From Passion to Action.”

Honorable Mentions in the competition were awarded to:

· Vocational School Complex in Kurzętnik for the internship “Kurzętnik Science Center,”

· Prof. Eugeniusz Pijanowski Catering School Complex in Warsaw for the internship “Thursday Dinners – Tradition and Modernity in Teaching Vocational and General Education Subjects.”

Descriptions of all the internships that reached the competition finals will soon be published in the Catalog of Good Practices on our website.

A number of honorable mentions and special awards were also presented.

A special award from the Cooperation Fund Foundation for “effectively combining young enthusiasm with mature experience to improve the quality of youth education and the activation of mature individuals” was presented to the Tadeusz Kościuszko Mechanical and Electrical School Complex in Rybnik for its Intergenerational Educational Strategies internship.

The Mazovian Youth Development Center awarded its special award to the Pope John Paul II Construction School Complex in Opole for its internship titled “Individual Student Needs as a Significant Factor Shaping School Work,” for “ensuring the comprehensive development of students with disorders, disabilities, and deficits, including preparation for independent functioning in society.”

The Education Development Center presented its statuette to the Yuri Gagarin Construction School Complex in Bydgoszcz for its internship titled “From Passion to Action.”

The Masovian Partnership for the Support of Youth also awarded a special award. It recognized the practice of the Tadeusz Kościuszko School Complex. John Paul II High School in Zdzieszowice, titled “Career Counseling as a Conceptual School Project,” is a project that contributes significantly to effectively preparing students for entering the job market.
