Our international S(i)M project team is slowly finalizing the syllabi for the seven modules of the “SI Design Academy Training Course.” As a reminder, the modules cover the following topics related to creating social innovation: active citizenship, social business, the process of creating social innovation, including the use of technology, stakeholder engagement, impact assessment, impact investing, and social innovation policy.
Because each topic covered in the modules is quite broad and specific, creating accessible yet substantively valuable syllabi was a significant challenge. The syllabi will be delivered as a free, seven-part online MOOC, shared by all seven countries participating in the project. The topics covered in the MOOC modules will also be further explored and provided with local context during in-person meetings accompanying the course.
All potential originators and stakeholders of social innovation projects will be invited to participate in the course. The course aims to help identify the process of creating and implementing a social innovation. Each module, in addition to theoretical knowledge, will also offer tools to aid project planning. Interested individuals can participate in any number of MOOC modules and/or in-person meetings. The course is scheduled to begin in September of this year. Details will be announced in due course.
