The project “How to effectively obtain EU funds from the 2014-2020 perspective – an offer for local government units” has been launched, implemented as part of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development grant competition “competition for grants for educational activities in the field of European Funds for the years 2014-2020”. This project is implemented jointly by the Ja Ty My Social Support Association, the Association of Polish Cities and the Cooperation Fund Foundation, which is its leader. The project is planning regional conferences and local government workshops as part of a two-day series of events (Day 1: regional conference, Day 2: local government workshops). During the conferences and workshops, participants will be able to obtain information on the opportunities for local governments to obtain EU funds in the 2014-2020 period, learn about the structure of EU funds and the rules applicable in the new EU perspective, and will also be able to familiarize themselves with project examples and common mistakes made by local governments in the process of applying for and implementing EU projects.

Information about local government conferences and workshops
The conference will present the offer for local government units available to local government units under regional and central operational programs. Participants will be able to learn about:
EU funds available to local government units in the new EU perspective;
what has changed since the previous period;
horizontal policies;
The most important activities that local government units will be able to use in individual Operational Programs (including Infrastructure and Environment, Smart Growth, Eastern Poland, Rural Development Programme, Fisheries and Sea Operational Program),
EU project management principles (project cycle, monitoring and evaluation principles, reporting, settlements),
tools supporting local government units in the process of applying for and implementing EU projects.
For each fund, local governments’ experiences with implementing EU funds in previous periods will also be presented.
During the second day, participants will have the opportunity to participate in active local government workshops on:
Infrastructure project preparation (How to prepare a project well, what you need to know before applying for funding, defining project objectives and expected results, preparing a schedule and budget)
Soft project preparation (How to prepare a project well, what you need to know before applying for funding, defining project objectives and expected results, preparing a schedule and budget)
Supplemented with topics conducted using peer learning (learning from your own experiences and those of other participants (A), what we have achieved and what we have not achieved in previously implemented projects, what are the key risks and how to avoid them, how to create good project implementation indicators and how to effectively monitor them).
After the conference and workshops, you will have the opportunity to receive advice from trainers by submitting an inquiry via the website www.funduszedlajst.pl.
Who are we targeting?
The project is addressed to 320 representatives of local government units from eight selected voivodeships in Poland: Lower Silesia, Silesia, Opole, Lesser Poland, Podkarpackie, Łódź, Lublin, and Świętokrzyskie Voivodeships.
The project is particularly addressed to:
representatives of local government units, including those responsible for implementing EU funds in city, rural, and county offices,
organizations collaborating with local governments in the voivodeships covered by the project.
Who will lead?
The conferences and workshops will be led by trainers with knowledge and experience in European funds, application forms, project implementation, and project settlement. Information about the trainers can be found at www.funduszedlajst.pl. A representative of the Marshal’s Office of the given voivodeship and the EU Funds Information Point will also be invited to speak at the conference.
How can I register?
Recruitment will be conducted via the website www.funduszedlajst.pl. Registration is by completing an electronic registration form. Each participant will receive email confirmation of their qualification for the local government conferences and workshops. Space is limited to 40 participants. Each conference and workshop (2 x 20 participants each). In the event of a large number of applications, qualification for the local government conferences and workshops will be determined by the order of registration.
