We have concluded the “Challenges and Trends in the Development of Local Government Partnerships” conference – a summary of the Advisory Support Center Plus (CWD Plus) project.
During two very intensive days in Katowice (June 19-20, 2023), local government partnerships, representatives of the Marshal’s Office, the Ministry of Regional Funds and Programs, the Association of Polish Cities, the Cooperation Fund Foundation, and specially invited guests summarized the year of activities within our project.
“We want everyone in Poland, regardless of the size of their local government, to have equal opportunities for development. We are doing this with the aim of ensuring that residents of our towns and our local governments have the same rights,” said Minister Grzegorz Puda, opening the conference.
As part of CWD Plus, approximately 690 municipalities and 77 counties from 16 voivodeships created 76 partnerships to exchange experiences and benefit from expert advice in preparing for EU funding. The partnerships covered one-third of Poland’s territory and one-fifth of its population.
“I hope that as a result of the CWD Plus project, the vast majority of partnerships, if not all, will continue to cooperate, implement integrated projects, and thus popularize the partnership model in Poland. This is the most effective way to improve the quality of life for residents,” says Grzegorz Puda.
