The Silesian Innovation Space Incubator is being created to meet the needs of Silesian residents, as well as institutions and companies directly concerned with issues related to the regional labor market, social revitalization, and energy poverty.
The project is implemented by the Cooperation Fund Foundation in partnership with the CRIS Centre for the Development of Social Initiatives.
The project is co-financed by the European Union under the European Social Fund
The social innovation incubator will support initiatives in the following areas:
- urban revitalization in the social dimension
- depopulation
- development of "white" and "green" jobs
- low female employment rate
- low employment rate of people over 50 years of age
- eliminating the social consequences of energy poverty.
The incubator will operate in a bespoke innovation model, first mapping the needs and social challenges of local and regional institutions, non-governmental organizations, companies, and local governments (so-called innovation commissioners) and then searching for a minimum of 40 solutions that will be tested as part of the project.
Entities that decide to participate in the project will have the opportunity to develop a tailor-made solution, designed together with service design specialists.
Innovators will be able to benefit from mentoring support and receive grants of PLN 45,000 to develop and test their ideas. The project's partner local governments are the City of Racibórz, the City of Rybnik, and the City of Wodzisław Śląski.
Other local governments, non-governmental organizations and companies from the Silesian Voivodeship will also be invited to join the partner network.
